A new initiative has been implemented to support Turkish lira deposits. The interest rate floor for exchange rate-protected deposits has been reduced from 80% to 70%. Additionally, there will be no extra yield payments for KKM accounts. These changes will come into effect on July 22, 2024.

In a new directive sent to banks by the central bank, the interest rate floor for KKM accounts has been lowered from 80% to 70%. At the end of the term, the amount to be paid by the central bank will be calculated based on the policy interest rate and the exchange rate difference.
